Default RE: How do you hunt turkey in the fall?

HNI visitor, the most common way to hunt fall turkeys is to locate a flock and scatter or bust them up.Try and send them in every direction if possible.Once you've got a good break-up of the birds set up at the break point and call them back using lost calls such as the kee kee and kee kee run.Young birds that are lost from their own family flock can be quite vocal very soon after being split up.Listen to thier vocalizations and do the best you can to duplicate it as you call to them. The key to the whole scenario is that initial break-up.You want as many birds as possible flying and running in different directions.A good break-up can create a situation where you'll be able to take more than one bird out of the same set-up as they return to the break-up point to regroup!Hope it helps BOB.
