Default RE: Gun Permit in IL

I was just up in Illinois the other day.I'll never be able to understand how the gun owners can handle the political BS.I went with a friend to a local gun shop. I wanted to buy him a muzzleloader for a gift since he wanted one and never had bought himself one. He is an Illinois resident and has a IL FOID card.Another joke I might add. The guys brings out a 4473 form for a ML.I asked what the form was for with a BP rifle. He said it's required in IL. Then he said there was waiting period which almost took me off my feet. When I went to pay for it he said that he couldn't do it because on the 4473 my friend said he was buying it for himself. From the get go I told him I was buying it as a gift and he let us go through all the Bull, then says he can't sell it to us. I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a call in needed too?I wish all you Illinois gun owners the best with your next governor.I heard all about the candidates and looks like a no win situation. We went to another gun shop. Just out of curiosity I asked if I could buy a box of ammuntion since I didn't have a FOID. To my surprise he wasn't sure. He said that he's called about that question a couple times in the past and each time got a different answers. It's hard to believe that a state can be that screwed up and have mass confusion. I had thoughts of maybe moving there. After these episodes I don't think there is a chance of that happening.... Ruger Redhawk
