For myself, I shoot Blackpowder not any substitutes, is one choose a bullet or couple weights of bullets that match the rate of twist in my gun. Then I shoot two shots and clean adjusting powder charge and/or bullet as required. After initial at 50 yards, then all shooting afterwards is at a 100 yards.
