Default RE: whats your best "SCENT" strategy

Great information here.I guess I am a cross of the traditionalist, and the more modern gadgeteer.I just purchased a Scent Blocker rain coat and bibs.I have yet to use it,but will this weekend.Being a beginning bowhunter I am learning and spending a lot!I have always used Scent Killer body spray, deoderant, and clothes wash.I will be adding shampoo soon.I usually hang my camo under the wood shed (tin roof, open sides) at night or when not in use.One thing that I always wonder about is wood smoke.Does it bother deer? Our cabin is all wood heat from a pot belly stove so smoke smell is unavoidable.I do know that I smell the chimney at times while hunting. Not sure if it spooks deer or not.Being deathly afraid of heights,I can only hunt about 10-12 feet up,although just yesterday I set a stand at 15 feet and will hunt it this weekend.I also have a carbon lined ground blind I intent to use at times.Just using simple methods of scent control I have had a black bear at 15 yards directly down wind while in a 12 foot ladder stand. It never seemed to notice me.One tip for the fellow who can't find the scent wafer at night, use a glow in the dark safety pin to hold it to the limb.Works for me!
