RE: whats your best "SCENT" strategy
Bringiton , you said " they were even down wind" , thats exactly why I dont agree with ONLY hunting the wind! If your only hunting the wind , your missing out on numerous opportunities. Most deer movement in my area seems to be cross wind. Eliminate your odor and use the wind to determine what direction they will be moving , not wether or not you should be hunting there.
I use scent-lok , wash all my clothes in scentless detergent , wash my body with scentless soap , use scentless deoderant , and make sure I spray my rubber boots , gloves and hat down with odor eliminator before hitting the woods. I keep my clothes in a rubbermaid tub after washing. I also brush my teeth with baking soda and water.
Concentrate on eliminating your odor , not covering it!
