I have heard that the 30/06 accelerators don't generally shoot well enough for varmint hunting - 3" at 100 yards. The .308 Win. version usually shoots better. I tried them in a custom .308 sniper rifle a few years back and got MOA. Ialso understand thatthe Accelerators are hard tofind in the .308 caliber lately, though.
As for seriousvarmit shooting niether are good choices. Choose a rifle 25 cal. or smaller. If just for occasional fun enjoy.
