Spotlighting is definately one of favorite pasttimes during the summer. I'm chomping at the bit to get out there and throw the light out, but I think that I'll give it a few more weeks yet until the bucks are about done growing. It'spretty exciting because Ialways seesome monsters(140-150+ class bucks) at night that I've never managed to see before dark in the areas that a check. Most people around here don't spotlight until October or November, but they're really missing out on the best time of year to do it which is late July-August when the bucks are still grouped up. A couple of years ago we had several nights during the beginning of August when we saw from 60-70 bucks in the same areas where I saw the deer last night. I've never seen close to that many before dark. Can't you only spotlight to like 11:00 in PA? Here in NY you can do at anytime during the year and at an hour as long as you're not doing it within 500ft. of houses (unless you have permission).
