Unit 52 has some nice elk. I have hunted Unit 52 for the last 4 years, but did not get drawn this year. I have hunted San Antonio Mtn. with success. Stick to the N. side, stay up high, and you will find elk sign everywhere. Hope you are in good shape, or have horses or mules. Access is tough. Be ready to climb.
Many outfitters camp at the base, or on towards Cruces Basin Wilderness area.
