I can shoot my 270 the better part of the day and never have the slightest discomfort.I can't understand why your's is beating you that badly.My Ruger M-77 7mm Rem Mag has been beating me but only leaves a slight bruise.I would give my shoulder a break for sure.Try pulling in tighter against your shoulder when firing.
