I have taken Deer, Black Bears, Buffalo,Caribou, Elk, Wild Hogs & a few other Biggame animals with a fixed blade 3 blade 125 gr.Rocky Mountain Broadhead since they came on the market in the 70s. Took a 900# Buffalo at 41 yards with a 60# Darton & got complete penetration-just a little thicker than the Elk you are going for. Complete penetration on a small Bull at 35 yards with a carbon & 3 Blade Rocky & 65# Darton. Fixed blade (my opinion)
