Default RE: remmington model 710

I had one of the 710s in 270. I hated it! The bolt would come out in my hand when I cycled it and the bluing was rubbing off the barrel. It's one redeeming quality was that it was a tack driver. I sold it to somebody who didn't know any better, and put the money towards a scope for the Ruger M77 MkII 300WM that I replaced it with. I'm much happier with the Ruger! It cost me a lot more than the 710 did, but I got something that looks awesome, won't fall apart on me in the field, and will hopefully will shoot as good or better than the 710 did.

If you're only going to take a couple shots from the bench to check zero and maybe take one or two shots at a deer, then the 710 will probably fit the bill for you. If you're going to put a lot of rounds down the barrel, spend a little extra and get something better.
