RE: most powerful .22lr round
A couple of months ago I bought a Marlin 39A to practice off hand shooting. Since I just wanted to practice getting on target and squeezing (not jerking) the trigger, I picked up a couple thousand rounds of cheap ammo to go with it.
Then I read this post and bought a brick of 30gr. Aguila Super Maximums. What a difference! I'd never shot any high end 22LR before. I adjusted my zero from 40 yds. to 75 yds and I'm still only an inch high in the middle and need 2-3 inches holdover at 100. The boys on the plinking course are in for a rude awakening next time out. Thanks for the info.
