Place the food plot toward the closest and most dense cover, if you have it in the middle of the field the deer wouldn't feel comfortable eating out there, and would rarely come to the center. Deer usually don't travel more then 100 yards from dense cover unless they have to, hope this helps
I haven't planted a food plot before , but wouldn't it make sense to put the most desirable plantings near the middle of the plot to draw the deer more out into the open for cleaner shooting ?
