The problem I've found with gold tips is the great variance in spine within a dozen arrows. With the set up you've described, I'd be very hesitant to shoot your bow over 60 lbs., unless you go with the lighter tips. On the other hand, lighter tips are much more prone to plane in the wind or deflect when hitting small twigs or grass. You can probably get away with the 100 gr heads if you spine test your arrows and only use the stiffer ones. I've found the worst set ups to be ones where some of the arrows are weak and some are strong.
