RE: 7 mag or 35 whelen
Both setups will do the job nicely on bullwinkle..Moose aren't all that hard to kill..It just sometimes TAKES them awhile to realize that they are dead...
At normal ranges, 300 yards or less, I'd go with the Whelen to take advantage of the heavier bullet... The TTBC will smash through heavy bone and muscle better if you have to take a shot at a less than ideal angle...
If you anticipate a LONG shot ( 300 plus) the 7 mag might be a better choice, but you'd want to wait for a good broadside shot at the ribcage...Put the bullet into the lungs with either round and you'll have lots of moose meat to deal with in short order...
