I would have to disagree with that. The .30-06 was around before the .308 was even a dream. It IS the standard by which all other cartridges are compared to. Before the .308 came out, there was nothing to compare another cartridge to, but the .30-06.
yeah i was typing fast and didnt read my post before hittin post. should be reversed =)
