Default RE: Love the Single Action Revolver

When I bought my first centerfire pistol, a Colt Gov't 45 auto in 1965, I commonly saw 3 types of 45 ammo on the shelf. The 45 auto, the auto rimmed, and the 45 Colt. I very quickly picked up the term Long Colt. My first SA centerfire revolver was the Ruger Blackhawk convertible in 45. I had some trigger work done, and it was a delight to shoot. I did find that I couldn't shoot very many 45 auto rounds through the cylinder before the carbon would build up and start to back out the cartridges and make cylinder roll tougher. I grew to appreciate the rimmed cartridge version. So, although incorrect, it was sure easy to keep the ammo straight that way. :-)
