RE: Burris Full Field II?
Skeeter...I used to own a Model 70 post 64 WInlite 300 win mag that was accurized by a Gunsmith. The gun was a consistent under 1" gun with a Leupold 2.5x8x36 scope but I wanted that on another lightweight rifle I had so I took it off the 70 and bought a Fullfield II 3x9x40(gloss). I mounted it on the gun with Leupold dual dovetail mounts. It still shot great for about 200 rounds and all of a sudden I'm getting soccer ball groups out of a gun with historically a troublefree history. Checked the Gun out ..nothing out of place or loose and sent it to Burris ..1 1/2 months later I get it back and on the letter an explanation of what they did to service it...and that the scope had been water tested. The scope felt really heavy so as I was gazing thru the ocular lense there was a bubble moving around..hah the scope was full of water...Called Burris and they said to send it back immediately...got it back 3 weeks later...There is a cover over some screws they have that if you view thru the ocular lense you will see(screwheads) if this is not in place. This time Burris recalled the scope via UPS and had it fixed promptly in 2 weeks(high priority) and sent it back. I now have the scope mounted on a remington 700 bdl ss in 06 and it is working fine. This is the 2nd burris I have had to send back to put back together the other was a 2.5x10x44 signature also mounted on another 300 win mag i owned and that started shooting loose. The other 3x9 Signature mounted on a BAR 30-06 has given no problems whatsoever.
