Do not see why it would not work . You would need one thick rope or a chain to hold up a 35 gallon trash can filled with corn . Maybe even use a old tripod feeder frame to hang it from .

One thing I would do is after you drilled your hole , hamer the edge of the hole toward the inside of the can so if the deer licks the bottom of the can it will not get cut on the edge .

I found it best to hang them just low enough that a deers mouth can get to the hole but high enough that a coon can not get to the stick .
