There seems to be a lot of confusion about how many and which states allow crossbows. Here is the latest list that I have in my possesion. Perhaps it will help out.


CROSSBOW REGULATIONS STATE BY STATE AND PROVINCE BY PROVINCE

ALABAMA: May be used by all hunters during archery season. For more info go to: www.dcnr.state.al.us

ALASKA: May be used for big game or small game during general season. Not permitted during archery-only season. Permitted for archers with disabilities. For more info go to: www.state.ak.us

ARIZONA: May be used for big game or small game during general seasons and during H.A.M. (Handgun, Archery, Muzzleloader) and fishing. For more info go to: www.gf.state.az.us

ARKANSAS: Classified and permitted as part of the state’s archery deer season. Also permitted for small game, predators and fishing. For more info go to: www.agfc.state.ar.us

CALIFORNIA: May be used for big game during general firearms season. Permitted for small game. Permitted for archers with disabilities. For more info go to: www.dfg.ca.gov

COLORADO: May be used for big game during general firearms season and for small game birds. Permitted for archers with disabilities. www.wildlife.state.co.us
