I'm overwhelmed with the congratulations--thanks guys.
Yes, I used the Ameristep Doghouse TSC--seems to be my 'lucky' blind--prior to the last day, I was in a Double Bull---superstitious or what [:-].
The population of birds have certainly improved here in Southern Ontario.
Since the re-introduction of birds, thankfully so to the Americans and also the support from our local NWTF Chapters, OFAH, MNR, other concerned organisations and individuals, our flocks have been steadily growing.
So much so--it may be time soon to introduce a fall hunt for 'hens'.
We are still not allowed to harvest any hens and neither do we have an open season for their harvest.
This year, 2005, I have noticed quite a gap in the hens to Tom/Jakes ratio---so much so, it was difficult at times pulling the Toms away from all their ladies!!!
All in all, t'was tons of fun---and I am sure thankful to all those involved in bringing the Turkey hunt back to Ontario.
The sound of a "Gobble" really cannot be felt until it is 'heard' live!!!
Now the wait to our next season begins
