Default RE: ACF ANNOUNCES LAUNCHING OF BIG GAME CROSSBOW RECORD BOOK

ELKINMTCWB - you're reading what you want to then. I've said time and again that the modern compound bows have revolutionized archery - they have driven archery beyond anything anyone could have imagined, recruited millions of bowhunters, opened up seasons, created industry and because of them archery demands some political attention.

Compounds are NOT bad - they are vastly different than a TRAD bow, but not evil. If your'e a purist, an elitist, then yeah, you probably think compounds are too much bet hey, they're here, right ? And crossbows are the Devil ! But thats crazy, one sided thinking and the roots of it is selfishness.

Come to Arkansas. Use a crossbow, or a compound, or a longbow or recurve. Hell, choose one today and a differnt one tommorow ! It don't matter - you got the same 4 1/2 months of archery that I do and the same tags - fill them however you want to, it don't make no difference in my hunting at all.

Now ponder this. For eveyone who's saying there is POTENTIAL for overcrowding in archery season be very careful what you're asking for. The vast majority of bowhunter ARE compound hunters. IF there is an overcrowding issue - thats the reason, isn't it ?

Oh - one other thing. A crossbow doesn't have the range of a compound, its much heavier, louder and is truly a 1 shot bow. You can't stalk with one really because they're so bulky and heavy. So to say they're not at least on the same level as compounds is silly and to compare them to handguns ? You need sleep, because you're imagining things. And like most others - I bet you've never shot one nor hunted with one nor shared the woods with them like I have.
so how many times have you said this.......
