Default RE: Guided hunts

Alsatian,I agree whole heartedly with your comments! When I read that thread first thing this morning It really took me back. I had to force myself not to respond right away. There are certain posts that I have read where as a result of the tone or content of the post I will no longer read anything that that particular poster has written.I have no desire to encourage people who go out of their way to instigate others or who try to assert some sense of superiority over other's.It is never justified to think that!
Those types of exchanges are embarrassing to all of us as hunters.I hope that the individual who was posting all the demeaning and argumentive posts get's some help!If in fact that is how he chooses to live his life,it is incredibly sad to me!
In my opinion there is nothing wrong with going on a guided hunt,it is not something that I choose to do but I would not condem others for doing it.Of course to hunt certain species of animals it is a necessity.I know of people who have had a desire to hunt a particular type of animal and have saved their money for many years to be able to take such a trip.If someone does that and presuming that it is a fair chase situation does that make them less of a hunter? They may be an excellent hunter in their home area but don't have access to species of animals that are not native to that area.Does that make them any less a hunter then the guide in a distant state? Of course not!
I can think of few things that would bring me more pleasure then to guide a passionate hunter to a trophy of their life time or better yet an aging hunter who had saved for a once in a life time trip and to have played a part in bringing them success! As hunters and ambassadors of our sport that in my opinion is what it should be all about!
