Default RE: head colors

A birds head can change colors depending on his mood. I've seen them all red, bright red white and blue, mostly white, even grayish blue. One year I was hunting and had a tom out about 100 yards strutting to beat all heck, his head was bright red, white and blue. Then all of a sudden two huge birds came out and booked it toward him. There heads were really bright too. When he saw them he instantly went out of strut and right before my eyes, all the red in his head disappeared and the whole head turned gray! I little blue in it but a really drab color. He also took off and those other 2 toms started strutting around the hens that were there. It was a really cool experience.
