I totally understand your pain. I was president of the AZ division of a company for many years and decided to quit after they sold to a big greedy outfit(now bankrupt)in 1996. Just coincidental that I quit the day before an elk hunt in NM! Best trip I ever had and got a job running a competitor on the phone on the way to hunt. Last year after a merger and push to fire a bunch of good people I did the same thing. Resigned on 9/6 and hunt was 9/12. Spent 2 weeks hunting and did NOT get a job! Forgot that phones don't ring after 50. Oh well, I finally found a great small business and put it all on the line. I had a lifetime of some little corporate puke screwing up my life right before a trip. Hope next year is better for you and I don't recommend my actions to anyone.
