I had a 6mm Remington many years ago. It was in the 788 Remington rifle. It was a tack driver but had the wrong twist for spire point 100 grain bullets. It however killed deer like a lightning bolt with the 100 grain Hornady round nose. It was a left hand bolt action though and a friend of mine wife had Lazy eye and needed a left hand rifle. I was nice enough and dumb enough to sell it to her. I tried to buy it back but sha had fallen it love with it by then and I was out of luck. I have had pretty good luck with the hornady round nose in the 6MM and 243. It seems to expand better. I think you will love the rifle.

As mentioned above, they are better used for varmits and small deer.
