I'd thank the farmer for his time, and permission, but would opt out for the year. Let the farmer do what he wants. For me, I hate controversy during hunting. Hunting should be a peaceful time, not clouded with "issues". Sometimes we have to deal with it, but it can taint an otherwise good hunting season. I'd explain to the farmer that next year, I'd like to be able to ask permission again, but would not wnat to make life difficult for anyone that year.
