I've standardized on Winchester's WLR primers, they are a bit hotter than standard, but not as hot as magnums.
yeah Ive done the same thing, had good luck with Win primers, if you do try Federals, Ive heard (internet) that if using a hand priming tool to be careful, (they are softer??) I have loaded some Federals with no problems, but I wear safety glasses (always) to be sure.
