I fished a high altitude mountain lake here in northern Arizona for large mouth bass today, Ive been fishing this lake for awhile now not able to get the lunkers to bite I tryed every technique I know that works great in the midwest with no luck then I got to thinking the lake is stocked with trout every two weeks with 6 to 15 inch rainbow trout. So I figured perhaps these bass were eating a regular diet of trout. I went to walmart and bought the biggest and closest to a rainbow trout pattern Rapala suspending husky jerk I could find. went back and fished the lake this evening and began catching good size bass

In the 3 hours I fished before the park closed, I caught 8 bass all ranging from 2 to 5 lbs, I had one lunker that had to be every bit of 8 to 10 lbs go for the lure just as i pulled it up from the water for another cast.

Im gonna go back tomorrow evening and try again.
