Perfect shot but little blood
I made what looked like a perfect shot at a nice Roosevelt Elk yesterday (35 yards uphill, 2" behind shoulder, mid level) and seen the arrow penetrate. It bucked and then ran off with 20 or so other animals. I thought for sure it would be down in minutes. Although after 15-20 minutes and then looking for a blood trail I was suprised to not find any at first and then picking up only a light trail, no lung blood or bright artery blood. I followed the trail (tedious) for approx half mile before I lost it in a clear cut. Anybody else ever have this experience? I am shooting a 435 grain carbon with a 125 grain Muzzy at 260 fps.
Discusted about loosing a nice animal!
