Go with the Rem 700 VS, the synthetic stocked version.I have one;a VSSF in 223 and my brother has an early 24" VS in 223.Both are great shooters after trigger adjusting.I've seen many of these rifles shoot less than an inch out of the box with factory loads or any old handload.Tailored loads will tighten them up a bit.I saw one in 308 shoot honest half inch three shot groups,three groups in a row with Federal Match ammo.
