I agree, the Remington 870 is a great choice for the price, but also consider the Mossberg 500, I got my 20 gauge 500 brand new with a rifled slug barrel for $270, but that was 6 or 7 years ago. I still use all the time for squirrels, doves, rabbits, deer and even a couple of ducks. It has also taken down several boxes of clays.
