RE: Accubond after shot....PICS!
I know I'll be shooting about 200 fps slower than any data shows since I have a 20" BBL and most books show data with a 24" BBL. I've considered buying a chrony, but I just can't justify it. I'd only use it a couple of times a year and I don't care much about velocity....so long as the accuracy is there anyway. Thanks for the info! I've not looked at a Barnes manual, but I do know that even the +P load are really anemic. Every load I've ever shot out of this rifle is above max with no signs of pressure, save one. When I use Remington primers they tend to flatten a bit. I don't put much stock in this though simply because I've loaded down about 10% from max on a non +P load only to find they do the same thing. No other pressure signs at all and an accurate rifle. While we're on the subject, has anyone found Rem. 9-1/2's to flatted a bit even with light loads such as described? It doesn't happen with CCI's in my rifle....just the Rems. Rems give me better performance, so that's what I'm sticking with....just curious.
I think this is one of the best whitetail calibers out there, but it seems to have never really gotten much respect. I love it and won’t be trading it off ever as far as I can tell. Loading it truly is the only way to get the designed performance out of it anyway.
