Shayn ... the barrel on the Black Diamond is free floating. It is one thing that makes the rifle such a good shooter. You should be able to take a dollar bill and starting at the end of the stock slide that dollar all the way under the barrel between the stock to the first locking lug on the front of the trigger.

Don't panic, it they take some getting used to but they are great shooting rifles. Also when you bench rest the rifle, never bench rest it on the barrel always make sure the stock rests on the front support or it can throw the shot.

Try some Buffalo Bullet 375 grain SSB sabots and 100 grains of Pyrodex RS out of your rifle. They shoot great out of my Black Diamond as do a number of other projectiles....
