RE: Kansas fishing
I went to school at K-state in the mid 90's and did quite a little fishing. Pot 2 is a great lake for LMB and crappie. I didn't have a boat and the crappie could be caught anywhere along the banks with minnows and bobber. I wade fished for the LMB. If I remember correctly we would start on the northwest corner and wade around the back side of the lake. Lare white spinnerbaits and anything topwater in the am and evening. We caught a ton of bass there. Tuttle creek was good for cats and crappie also. For cats we would go across the back of the lake, park just off the bridge and walk east down the shore about 1/2 - 1 mile and fish anywhere along that bank at night. I can't remember where it was we crappie fished on Tuttle but we caught a lot of them. I think that was in a cove on the northeast end. Fished Milford a lot with a friend with a boat and caught a lot of white bass but like cbanman said you need a boat over there. We caught a good number of white bass at Rock Ford also. White and chartruse twister tails on 1/4 oz jig heads. Most people were using live bait but we did really well with the artificials. Been a while but I caught a lot of fish from shore while there.
