Well, today was the final day of the Missouri turkey season. Got an early start, was in the blind by 4:45. Birds talked ok on the roost, but in true missery fassion, shut up when they hit the ground. We decided to just stay put, and try to ambush one. Tom was set up on a field edge about 200 yards from me, I was back in the woods. Well, after some sporadic gobbles, about 8:30 I "blinked" aka, took a nap.....[&:] When a shotgun blast awoke me from Baywatch in my head....I grabbed the radio, and asked, "Tom, what did you just do?" He was so shook up he couldn't even talk! I knew then a bird was on the ground. I hustled up the hill, and sure enough, a 15 pound jake. This was Tom's first season ever hunting turkeys, and I do believe he will be doing it again!!
