I've been in that fight (centerfire rifles) since I was old enought to vote and &quot;actually&quot; had a voice. The big excuse they put forth is that they are afraid some one will kill someones cows. If you can't tell the difference between a cow and a white tail deer, you got serious issues and problems. The other biggy is that rifles have such a long range. While that is true, there are very very few places in Halifax County where a bullet would be able to travel more than a few hundred yards before hitting trees or an embankment of some kind. Heck, I could stand 100 yards in the woods, put you 75 yards outside of the woods, let you shoot at me and the chances of you hitting me would be like 1 in 100000000000000000.
