Rio Grande Newbie
Hi All-
Just had a quick question about Rio Grande Turkeys... I am heading to Texas (northern) for a turkey hunt and wanted to know if there were any things to be aware of when hunting Rios as compared to Easterns or Merriam's?
Reason I ask is that when I went from hunting Easterns while living in Illinois to hunting Merriam's in Nebraska, I found that the terrain made birds sound further way than they actually were. Couple that with the fact that they seem go gobble softer started explaining why I kept running over the top of them while trying to close the distance for a set-up.
Any info is greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
