I dont know, Ive never tried a anything big like that on a yote, but my guess is it will tear them up but if you're not keeping pelts go for it. I think you should go for a 243, thats a real good varmint cal and you can use it on deer and stuff. Also Id look into a 25-06, thats real good for accurate long range shots.
