The bow I prefer for carp here in Mi. is just an ole recurve, light in poundage say, 40-45#.
They don't wear you out carrying them because they are light, they shoot quick and being they are in and out of the water all the time, they are cheap to replace!
Another reason for the light draw weight is so you don't blow through the fish as easy. Nothing worse then when your shooting in a tournament, trying to shoot-retrieve-string alot of fish and your arrow passes completely through and gets tangled up with your retriever line![:@]
