RE: loss of poundage on a MQ1
schmalts, either your buss is too long, or your mainstring is too short, or a combination of the two. Because of the radical angle that the limbs are mounted on Mathews bows, even the slightest variance in string or cable length will really throw your poundage and draw length out of whack.
Coincidentally, I just fixed a friends MQ1 last week that had the same problem as you, only his was way worse. He had new strings made for his bow, it is a 70lb. max bow, and when he brought it to me to look at, it only would max out at 55lb.!!
His mainstring was less than 1/4" too short, and his buss cable was exactly 1/4" too long. After whipping up a new set of strings for him, the bow went right back to 70lb. max.
Check your string lengths very carefully, I am betting you will find them to be your problem.
