I was out bushhogging yesterday (in VA). Got 3 fields done, still have 6 to go. The deer will start browsing in the fields that are cut. Undergrowth such as clover really starts coming back if you cut early enough. 2 fields I don't cut b/c I let them to grow thick so the deer can bed down. The other ones, I either cultivate for hay or cut for deer/geese. Like soarkrebel said, it prob. wouldn't hurt to cut in a few weeks too.
