I was over at Scheels all sports today and noticed that they had one 700 Classic for 2005 left in stock. It was the 308 for this year but they have a 24 inch barrel. This one had nice wood on it so I picked it up. I put a new 4x12x40 Swift Premier scope on it. Should make an excellent big game rifle this fall. I will put a synthetic stock on it and save the wood stock so I don't ding it up. I hate wood stocks for hunting use because I always manage a ding or two per season. I have bought several Classics over the years and just stick the cheap Ram Line stocks on for hunting use. They have held up well and shot real well with the Ram Lines.

I have several Swift scopes and have had real good performance from them. For a lower dollar scope they have worked well. I wanted a new Aetec but they didn't have any in yet.

They are selling out the remaining 700 ADL rifles with the synthetic stocks for 327.00 I put one of those away for later. They were down to 243, 270 and 30-06. Good price though.
