Sorry to hear about the accident. I know how traumatic they can be; I've been through my own and lost friends and relatives, too. Thank God you and your family made it through.

Some friendly advice; I'm a claims adjuster and it's my job to handle injury settlements, etc. Try to AVOID getting an attorney if you can. Most of the time, they won't increase the settlement amount you get; they just end up getting 1/3 of what you would have gotten anyway, especially in a case where you might be entitled to the other party's policy limits.
