Default RE: Flea & Tick preventatives???

dogdr says, "pyrethrins just dont cut it anymore. the flea and tick populations have built up resistance over the years. Frontline will do the trick 98% of the time. "

Now I'm sure you know a lot more than I do in terms of what is "supposed" to work and what doesn't. But, I can tell you, coming from someone who upland bird hunts 60 plus days a year in the thick Wisconsin tick infested coverts, that Frontline wasn't very successful with me. I used it for 2 years and it didn't cut the mustard in terms of ticks here.

Last here I switched to Bio-spot. 2 dogs, 60 some odd outings chasing grouse, not 1 tick to pick off. I've heard some grumblings about bio-spot, but, in my book, the stuff works...better than frontline plus....which I know many vets get a cut from.
