i guess i better clarify what i meant by "Opportunity to show off"

i was in no way condoning far out 800 yard shots or anything of the sorts.
i was simply giveing others (and myself if i can figure out how to load my picture) a chance to show some of the heavy barreled rifles that may be used in hunting.
i recently bought a remington 700 in 308 with a 24" R5 barrel for hunting deer/elk. As someone mentioned earlier in this thread, it's a little heavy to drag up and down the mountains, but its sure nice to know if you set up on a ridge that that you know where the shot is going to go.
the last rifle i had (browning blr in 308) had good days and bad days and i just couldnt trust it so i bought this.
