Default RE: Goodshooting .22 pistol?

My Ruger MKII target actually shot tighter than the scoped remington 597 I once owned. The onlything I can't stand about the ruger though is the grip angle- its all wrong and uncomfortable at least to me.

I got to shoot an old highstandard that had interchangeable barrels once. It had a 5" and a 3" barrel IIRC. The 3" barrel seemed to feel as natural as the fingers on my hand. I wish I had one.

Shooting my wife's Bearcat is fun also. It doesn't shoot as tightly from the bench as the MKII but I still shoot it much better unsupported than the MKII becasue even the tiny revolver fits my hands better than the MKII. I just can't figure out what kind of meds Bill Ruger was taking when he designed the grip angle on the MKII.
