RE: Wisc. hunters being forced to put name on treestands
I will stick my neck out here a little bit. I am the chairman for the Conservation Congress in the county I live in. Buckmstr is correct about the one inch lettering that needs to be in legible english. The media has twisted this slightly in their articles to encompass "public land". The truth is this only pertains to STATE OWNED Land and designated state managed land that a good example is slipping my mind at this point. The orgin of the came from a question posed a couple years back as a Conservation Congress advisory question. The driving force behind it was metioned before. "Squatter Rights" At least in this part of the state there are folks that perennialy slap up a stand start baiting it and never take it down throughout the whole season and sometimes leave it up year round. Which has been illegal for many years. I understand your concern Buckmstr, but if you are already following the rules in place you don't have anything to worry about because you will be removing your stand at the end of each hunting day.
