RE: Oklahoma Turkeys.....
Not sure of your location in the state, but I hunted in Okfuskee County this weekend and the birds were definitely split up. I called in a group of eight jakes in Saturday morning and then two long beards that hung up around 60 yards. All of these birds were w/o hens.
I also hunted Harmon County opening week and the birds were all henned up. We basically roosted the birds each night and then snuck in really close well before daybreak. We were close enough that when the birds flew down they were in range, so we could watch and call a little and then shoot. This worked well for me and my hunting buddy. We took a couple of real nice Rios.
If your birds are henned up I would try to roost them and then sneak in real close <60 yards and try and set up in the direction you think that they will be traveling.
