For the recurve, I'd definitely recommend the ChekMate Falcon.

The Samick Viper is a decent entry level longbow for around $200.
Or, if you're handy and don't mind a little do-it-yourself stuff, do some reading on
Ferret's and
Jawge's websites and learn how to make a bow from a piece of lumber. It takes longer to save up a couple hundred dollars - to get a storebought bow - than it takes to save up $10 to buy a good red oak board and make it yourself. You can do it. I was making my own bows when I was a lot younger than 14.
You can learn how to make your own flemish strings on
this site. And there's a lot of nifty projects over
here.
Summer vacation is coming up. Making some archery gear is a great way to keep from getting bored. Your homemade stuff might not be as fancy as your friends', but it'll be a lot cooler. "Wow! You MADE that?"
Whatever you wind up doing, enjoy.
